This is sad. I don't like horse racing, but I have been watching the story of Barbaro, and I will cry over this....?

A Mexican congressman said Thursday he will submit a bill in March
that would amend the country's constitution to guarantee the rights of
transsexuals and change civil laws to ensure they can legally change
their name and gender.

David Sanchez Camacho's bill would insert a paragraph into Article
Four of the Mexican Constitution stating that "every person has the right to
the recognition and free exercise of their gender identity and their gender
expression."

Article Four currently guarantees equal rights for women and men and
states the rights of children and families, but it does not mention
homosexuals or transsexuals. A transsexual is a person who has
undergone a sex change operation or whose sexual identification does not correspond
with the gender at birth.

Changes to the constitution need approval from two-thirds of both
houses of Congress and two-thirds majorities in at least 16 of the 31 state
legislatures.

Sanchez Camacho said he had the support of his leftist Democratic
Revolution Party, which holds only about one-quarter of the seats in
the lower house.

Transsexual activists said they hope other countries will present
similar
proposals.

Transgender's Death

The death of a transgender woman in a San Francisco hotel is
raising big questions for her family, according to NBC11.
Daxi Arredondo's family, from Santa Cruz, told NBC11 she was
born male, but lived life as a female.
In November 2006 Arredondo, 35, was found dead in a hotel room
in San Francisco's Tenderloin District.
So far, investigators said they have not declared the death a
homicide.
Arredando's mother Martha said investigators said her daughter
was seen entering the hotel with a man, who was later seen
leaving alone.
Arredando's mother told NBC11 she has hired a private investigator to help find out what happened.
She said she became suspicious when she saw bruises and cuts on her daughter's body when she identified the
body.
Martha Arredondo said, "I want the truth. I want to know what happened. I want to know where she was, and I
want to outreach to the community. If anybody can help … if anybody has information."
San Francisco police said they are waiting results from the medical examiner.
The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death, according to NBC11.

I support the actions and sacrifices of Ed Brown.
Why: Paying taxes is in effect taking up my savings, and reduces my income by at least 1/3 rd on every payday. I pay at least 350.00 in taxes every two weeks and it is getting old, especially when our politicians are corrupt and Bush is a warmonger.
I do not agree on using my taxes to pay for his deadly war, and I do not get anything from paying taxes.
Health care is a joke, highways are fucked up, the cops like to abuse everyone they get their hands on, so what is left????

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A former militia man convicted of tax evasion prepared for a government siege Friday at his fortress-like home, but U.S. marshals gave no indication they were planning to confront him.

Ed Brown said he was ready for a swarm of federal agents to descend on his property to execute an arrest warrant issued after he failed to appear for the end of his trial. He and his wife contend that they did not have to pay income taxes, and his supporters say a conflict could be violent.

"If Mexico came up on my land and tried to take my land, would I not fight?" Brown said. "The United States is the same exact thing as Mexico in this state."

Brown, 63, and his wife, Elaine, 65, were convicted Thursday of plotting to conceal their income and avoid paying federal income tax. They argued the tax is illegitimate and they are not required to pay it.

U.S. marshals said negotiations with Brown continue and they have no plans to attack Brown's Plainfield home or act quickly on the arrest warrant. He has been holed up in his home with armed supporters for much of the trial.

Why is America? Under the leadership of one man?

Die-In at the Federal Building

On Thursday January 4th the groups Declaration of Peace Campaign, First Unitarian Universalist Society of SF, and the Watada Support Committee sponsored a Die In at the Federal building in San Francisco.

There were several speakers including Medea Benjamin, but there was one who' words hit me sort of hard. I try to keep opinion out of news stories but what Marilyn Saner said about her son hit me hard and made me cry. She talked about how her son was injured by an IED, but when he got orders for redeployment to Iraq he didn't balk. He said, "He felt like he needed to be there to help protect and serve with his fellow soldiers." Marilyn Saner said his son would "feel guilty if he didn't go..."

I know what that is like. I served in the US Navy, and when I had the opportunity to save lives I did not hesitate. The lives I saved were strangers but they were my comrades.

Several people were arrested at that event, and it appeared that the Federal police were very gentle and did not abuse the arrestees.

Other speakers included MC: David Hartsough, Ken Butigan, Rev. Dr. Dorsey Blake, Rev. Meg Whitaker-Greene, and Lloyd Wake.

President Ford wasn't all that.
I have seen that people all over the country are worshipping or paying respects to yet another dead man. Prez Ford. You know people wake up, he wasn't all that. He was just some other loser President.
