Killers get maximum sentence.
The people who killed or contributed to the death of Gwen Araujo get maximum sentences.

(When those boys get out they will face more shit)
okay sorry about that, but 15, 6 and 11 years is not enough time for a bunch of idiots.

When they get out what will they be able to contribute to society?

Pro-choice, Resist the religious right

Pro-choice

On January 21 2006 religious extremists converged in San Francisco for their annual Walk for Life march. Despite the fact that SF is a pro-choice town those religious fanatics still invaded our town soaking up our resources. To say the least the religious fanatics encountered fierce resistance and had to be protected by the SFPD and FBI. Yes the FBI was there trust me. They made their presence known to me. I am a photographer and videographer. The religious people far outnumbered the pro-choicers, but they needed to ship or bus people in from Oregon, Alaska and other parts of California. This was not a loss or a setback, because recently voters in California squashed the religious rights attempt at stopping abortion at the voting booths.
California voters overwhelmingly approve of abortion.
Resist the religious right.

Sarah Tucker was killed by a hit and run driver in January at the intersection of Polk and Geary Streets. The driver fled and has not been found. The car that hit her is a black Honda SUV. The car has a dent on the driver side door. If anyone has seen a car like that please call the SFPD. We need to find her killer.

womens rights

Last years Walk For Life confrontation between pro-choicers and anti-abortionists made me proud to be a San Franciscan. Thousands of people gathered to confront the religious right and demand Reproductive Justice. I was able to vent my frustration over the lack of seperation between church and state.
What happens to the Christmas trees?

While crusing through the city during the holidays I noticed there were lots of Christmas trees all decorated and looking pretty. I have to admit that is the best part of San Francisco during the holidays, but upon further inspection I learned the trees were real. Not plastic nor fiberglass. At first I thought they came with some of the roots, but when I went to City Hall one day I saw Sunset Scavenger cutting the tree up in pieces with a saw.
The tree did not have any roots, so I flipped out and started to cry.
Why waste a tree for the sake of a decoration?
This is what I discovered.

William from Sunset Scavenger says the trees are taken to the recycle yard. In that yard the metal is stripped from the trees and then they are cut up a little more and sent through a machine that turns them into mulch. The mulch is then taken to the parks, especially Golden Gate Park and used on the grounds.
The trees are in fact specifically grown for this city.
The moral of this story.
The trees are recycled not burned nor thrown in a dump.
In my opinion that is a happy ending.

Sago mine tragedy is traumatic. Shut down the Sago mine.
Society may need a debriefing on this, and if one is not offered then that may indicate a breakdown of the mental health system in this country.
Geez can you imagine what those families felt after they were told the miners were alive, BUT were actually dead. The only survivor has a hella of a story. He watched his comrades die. That is horrible. Is it worth it? I know those people rely on mining for a living, but when do we say enough is enough. Now what. If I was miner then I would never return to that mine.

AP

TALLMANSVILLE, W.Va. - Most of the 13 coal miners trapped in an explosion survived the blast itself, retreated deeper into the mine and hung up a curtain-like barrier to keep out toxic gases while they waited to be rescued, officials said Wednesday. All but one were found dead after more than a day and a half. The miners' families learned of the 12 deaths after a harrowing night in which they were mistakenly told at first that 12 of the men were alive. It took three hours before the families were told the truth, and their joy turned instantly to fury.

As far as I am concerned we got the debrief. The men left notes and told their family they were just going to sleep. Wow.
The effects of Carbon Monoxide poisoning is the feeling that you have to go to sleep, BUT the only thing is once you are asleep from Carbon Monoxide poisoning you will never wake up. Rough as it sounds it was probably the safest way to die.
I feel so sorry for those families. I can't stop thinking about it.

New Laws go into effect.

AB 1400 and AB 1586 will now protect transgender people when they experience discrimination while using public accommodations or getting health care.
Equality California and the Transgender Law Center say California now has the most transgender friendly laws in the nation.

The Civil Rights Act of 2005 or AB 1400 will help protect transgender people when they are discriminated against while using public accommodations such as bathrooms. To help educate society the Transgender Law Center has created a guide called “Peeing in Peace: A Resource Guide for Transgender Activists and Allies.” The document can be viewed or downloaded from the website www.transgenderlawcenter.org.
The Insurance Gender Non-discrimination Act or AB 1586 will protect transgender people in the health care industry. According to the Transgender Law Center and the National Center for Lesbian Rights at least 48% of all transgender people experience discrimination in employment, 38% in public accommodations, 32% in housing and 31% experience discrimination in health care.

Transgender activist Dina Boyer says the laws are a step in the right direction, but transgender people also need devices or methods to prosecute when they experience discrimination. She says, “I always hear lawyers, attorneys and public defenders say there is nothing we can do. Hopefully the new laws will enable them to prosecute when a transgender person experiences discrimination.”

For more information please visit www.equa.org, or www.transgenderlawcenter.org.

Please go to www.trannytalktv.com or http://homepage.mac.com/trannytalk/ to see and hear about the nations first transsexual talk show. “Tranny Talk” is aired on San Francisco’s public access channel 29 every first and third Sundays of the month. Protest Canadian Food

I wish Canada would end their brutal killing rampages of Harp Seals. To urge them to end the Harp Seal hunts I will stay away from eating any sort of food originating from Canada. Harp Seal hunts are disgusting, and indicates a breakdown of all morals. Maybe Canada should be invaded.
Stop Harp Seal Hunts.
