Two of the perpetrators of Gwen Araujo's murder will face 15 years to life, but the third defendant has not been charged. The jury was unable to reach a verdict for the third perpetrator, so the judge declared a mistrial for Jason Cazares.
Michael Magidson and Jose Merel are charged with second degree murder, but escaped the hate crime enhancement. Prosecutors will have to decide whether to hold another trial to convict the third defendant.
